CUSTOMER SERVICE QUESTION: I made an appointment with another computer company and they never showed up. What guarantee do I have that if I make an appointment with your company that you will? ANSWER: We back all our appointments by a guarantee. We have run across so many companies and do this very same thing even to us. Knowing what a bother that is, we call at least once before your scheduled appointment to confirm everything is in place. If a part you ordered is taking longer than expected, or if we just can’t make it, we call you to reschedule. If we have to reschedule and don’t give you enough time, say an emergency comes up on our end with another client, we call you, reschedule, and discount your rate for the rescheduled appointment.
SALES QUESTION: I want to get a new computer system. I saw that there was a Dell laptop online for $800. The other computer company I asked to get this for me wanted to charge $1400 just for the laptop itself. Do all computer places markup their costs? And if so, how much do you guys mark them up? ANSWER: Most places do mark up costs. As a general rule we charge NO profit on hardware products. If Dell charges us $800 for your laptop, we only charge you $800 for your laptop. Our profits comes from our fees. License fees for software are also not charged as profit. We have basic setup rates, delivery rates, and sometimes travel rates. So if you wanted that laptop, we would order it, you would pay the $800 for the laptop, whatever shipping charge Dell charges us, and a minimal $30 delivery and setup fee. The setup fee would depend on the amount of time we were at your place to setup the new system. Often times however, the customer simply picks it up at our location and isn’t even charged that fee.
SUPPORT QUESTION: I got a refurbished computer from you, and I know it is past the 90 warranty you gave me. My question is how much would it cost to fix the computer should something stop working? ANSWER: That depends on the part that is no longer working. Again with parts we don’t charge profit. You would have a diagnostic fee, $30 - $60, and then whatever part went out and the shipping of that part. Installation fees for the part are also based on how long it takes us to install the new part. Those fees are based on our normal $60.00 / Hr labor rate.
BILLING QUESTION: I have a maintenance contract with you for my computer. And this month I am broke. Since I can’t pay you I will need to skip this month’s maintenance. Can I do that? ANSWER: No. We do everything we can to work with our customers financial obligations where our business is concerned. Specifically if you can’t pay for this month, your computer still needs maintenance done on it. If you communicate this financial burden with us, we can setup a short-term payment plan for you to pay it. However, skipping a month on your maintenance can cause a lot of computer problems in the future. We still would need to do the work, but your payment can be delayed. If that is not an option, we can suspend your contract for up to 45 days without any penalties. However, this is of a last resort and only if your maintenance contract has the “Economic Crisis Clause” in it.
PRODUCT / SERVICE SPECIFIC QUESTION: Do all your products come with a warranty? ANSWER: No. Generally, most new products we purchase from vendors come with a standard warranty. We cannot however warranty software, and neither does our vendors. Used products we generally offer 30-90 days warranty. We also generally do not do returns, unless the product you purchased has a warranty and was found to be faulty. At which time we exchange it. Still at times, labor rates may apply. For instance a hard disk you purchased new from us. We exchange it, and reinstall it for free. However, if an operating system or data needs to be placed on the new hard disk, labor rates would apply. Also sometimes shipping rates apply. In which case you would have to pay the shipping costs. Shipping costs on an exchange, is rare.
MISCELLANEOUS QUESTION: Do we get a discount for referring someone we know to you? ANSWER:Yes. We do offer discounts for referrals. Your discount would be determined by what the referred person would need. In the past discount for referrals have been anywhere from $5.00 to $1,000.00; depending on promotions and availability of products, as well as what the referred person purchased.
